6.1" Cluster of Jurassic Crocodile Vertebrae - North Whitby, England
This is a beautiful, 6.1" wide cluster of Lower Jurassic crocodile (Steneosaurus cf. bollensis) vertebrae from Sandsend, North Yorkshire, England. There are four partially exposed vertebrae with intact processes.
Steneosaurus is an extinct genus of teleosaurid crocodyliform from the Early Jurassic to Middle Jurassic. Fossils of Steneosaurus have been found in England, France, Germany, Switzerland and Morocco. Most species grew up to about 10 feet in length.
