.55" Paleocene Fossil Fruit (Psidium) - North Dakota
This is a beautiful fossil fruit of the genus Psidium that was collected from the Sentinel Butte Formation of North Dakota. It is finely detailed and the light preservation contrasts well against the dark orangish-brown rock. A great deal of this fossil's texture has been preserved!
Psidium is a genus of trees and shrubs in the family Myrtaceae. Typically plants of this genus are native to warmer parts of the Western Hemisphere. This fruiting plant would have existed in North Dakota during an age of warmer climates (Paleocene epoch).
It comes with an acrylic display stand.
