11.5" Triple-Hearted Fossil Tree Fern (Palaeosmunda) Round - Australia
This is a 11.5" wide, polished round of a very interesting petrified tree fern (Palaeosmunda sp.) from the Upper Permian coal measures of Bowen Basin, Australia. It is one of the rarest gem quality petrified woods in the world, and is a part of the Osmundaceae family of tree ferns. The dark red-brown coloration of this specimen can likely be attributed to hematite inclusions. This amazing round contains three hearts, making it even more incredible and rare!
It has been polished to a glossy finish on one side and is accompanied by an acrylic-metal display stand.
