Fossil Hadrosaur (Edmontosaurus) Jaw Section with Stand - Montana #165892

This is a 5.7" wide jaw section of Edmontosaurus annectens, a type of Hadrosaur from the Hell Creek Formation of Dawson County, Montana. It features the cavities that the battery of teeth would have sat within. There are multiple repaired cracks through this specimen, each of which required some minor gap fill restoration.

This specimen comes with the pictured custom metal display stand.

Hadrosaurs

are frequently referred to as duck-billed dinosaurs and are members of the Ornithischian family Hadrosauridae. They were fairly common herbivores that roamed Asia, Europe, and North America during the Upper Cretaceous Period. Many species of Hadrosaurs had distinctive crests on their heads, some of which had air-filled chambers that may have produced a distinct sound. These crests may have been used for both audio and visual display purposes.
