5.6" Fossil Sycamore (Platanus) Leaf - Green River Formation, Utah

This is a well preserved 5.6" fossil Sycamore (Platanus) leaf from the Green River Formation, Utah. This wonderful specimen shows the primary veins and stem. Under magnification the more subtle features of the leaf become visible including secondary venation and leaf texture.

While this formation is best known for well preserved fossil fish found in Wyoming, other sections of the formation contain a very diverse insect fauna.

Comes with an acrylic stand.
