5.4" Fossil Sauropod Bone Section - Morrison Formation
This is a 5.4", fossil sauropod vertebra section from the Morrison Formation in Wyoming. This is a section of compact (cortical) bone from a long bone such as a femur. Not the thickness of this weight bearing bone. It has a number of repaired cracks.
There are a number of sauropods known from the Morrison Formation. The most common were Camarasaurs, Diplodocids and Apatosaurs, but there are at least a dozen other genera.
