5.15" Fossil Pecten and Haustator Cluster - Gironde, France
This is a large cluster of various Early Miocene-aged fossil invertebrates, most notably pecten (Pecten scabrellus), a type of scallop, and spiral-shaped Haustator sp. gastropods. They were collected from near Gironde, France. These elegant fossils are still partially embedded in the limestone in which they were found.
