4.6" Polished, Fossil Coral Section - Indonesia

This is a stunning, 4.6", polished slab of fossil coral from Sumatra, Indonesia. This is a different species than the one usually seen in Indonesian coral fossils. The polishing allows the beautiful, fossilized structure of the coral to easily be seen. This specimen is polished on both sides.

This specimen comes with an acrylic display stand.

These corals are approximately 20 million years old and are the remains of ancient reefs. Tectonic action has thrust them up forming mountains. As these corals fossilized the original organic material was replaced by silica, iron, manganese and other minerals.
