4.3" Polished Nautilus From France - Jurassic
This is a large, polished nautilus fossil of the genus Cenoceras from Belmont, France. It is 4.3" wide and displays nicely on a free-standing block of matrix. This nautilus is Lower Jurassic (Toarcian Stage) and quite hard to acquire compared to the commonly available types from Madagascar and Morocco. A very unique display piece, that should appeal both to the collector and to someone who just wants to appreciate the aesthetics.
