.35" Permian Reptile Chevron Fossil - Oklahoma

Here is a chevron of a Lower Permian reptile (unidentified) from the Richard's Spur Quarry near Lawton, Oklahoma. A chevron is a protective bone that occurs along the ventral side of the tail in many reptiles and dinosaurs, and in some mammals. This permian reptile material is found within cave fissure fill deposits in the quarry.
