3 Foot Wide Fossil Fish Wall Mount - 73 Fish

This is an amazing mass mortality fossil fish plate from the Green River Formation of Wyoming. There is 73 fish present on this beautiful 36x21" specimen. There is a swarm of 70 Knightia eocaena a type of fossil herring ranging in sizes up to about 3 1/2" long. Three exceptionally preserved Priscacara serrata fossil fish have been inlaid into this plate. The largest of the Priscacara is just under 7" long. The plate has been backed with wood for stability and to make it easy to mount to a wall.
