3.4" Tail Of Super Spiny Spiniscabrella Trilobite - Issoumour, Morocco
This is a super spiny, 3.4" long tail of the mythical "elvis trilobite", Spiniscabrella stuvei. Despite numerous fake, composited and heavily restored specimens of this giant, porcupine-like trilobite finding their way onto the market, only a handful complete specimens have ever been found. Out of these complete specimens I'm only aware of a single example that wasn't a molt.
Given the size of the tail, this trilobite would have been close to a foot long if complete, and some of the spines on the tail are almost a half inch long. Despite just being a tail this specimen would have taken quite a few hours to prepare due to the long spines.

About Trilobites
Trilobites are an extinct class of marine arthropods that thrived for nearly 270 million years, from the early Cambrian to the end of the Permian period (around 521 to 252 million years ago). They are one of the most successful and diverse groups in the history of life, with over 25,000 described species spanning a wide range of sizes, shapes, and ecological niches. Known for their distinctive, segmented exoskeletons, trilobites provide invaluable insights into the evolutionary history of arthropods and the dynamics of ancient marine ecosystems.
