.29" Leptoceratops Tooth - Montana

Leptoceratops teeth are pretty hard to find in the Hell Creek Formation. This is from a Leptoceratops gracilis, the only Protoceratops found in North America. It was collected from private land in Powder River County, Montana. Comes in an acrylic display case.

Leptoceratops was a small, primitive genus of ceratopsian dinosaur who's name literally means "small-horn face" despite the fact it did not have any horns. It reached lengths of about 2 meters and is believed to be bipedal, meaning it could run on it's back legs. As with other ceratopsians it has a parrot-like beak and was probably able to chew very tough vegetation.
