.2" Permian Reptile (Captorhinus) Tooth - Oklahoma
This is a .2" long tooth/jaw section of a Lower Permian reptile (Captorhinus aguti) from the Richard's Spur Quarry near Lawton, Oklahoma. This permian reptile material is found within cave fissure fill deposits in the quarry. Comes with a small acrylic case.

Captorhinus is an extinct genus of captorhinid reptiles that lived during the Permian period, and was one of the earliest and most primitive reptiles. Its remains are known from North America, Europe, India and Africa. It was fairly small--around 12 inches in length--and likely bore a resemblance to modern lizards.
