20 Million Year Old Fossil Coral Pendant - Indonesia

This is a beautiful polished pendant made from fossil coral that was collected from Sumatra, Indonesia. The polishing allows the beautiful, fossilized structure of the coral heads to easily be seen.

The entire pendant including the cabochon, metal wrap and bail, measures 2.6" long.

This coral fossil is approximately 20 million years old and are the remains of ancient reefs thrust up into the mountains by the collisions of tectonic plates. As these corals fossilized the original organic material was replaced by silica, iron, manganese and other minerals.
