20.5" Brontotherium (Titanothere) Jaw - Museum Quality

This is a museum quality fossil jaw of a Titanothere, a massive Rhinoceros-looking animal that lived during the Late Eocene. It was collected from the Eocene-aged Chadron Formation of South Dakota.

This jaw is in pristine condition with all of the teeth intact and in great shape. Almost no restoration, just some crack fills and superficial touchups to the roots on a few teeth. Comes with the pictured wooden display stand.

Titanothere's are an extinct, massive, mammal that lived during the Eocene. While the very closely resembled a Rhinoceros, they were more closely related to todays horses. They first appeared 54 million years ago and went extinct at the end of the Eocene, 34 million years ago.
