2.79" Fossil Auriculatus Shark Tooth - Dakhla, Morocco
This is a beautiful tooth of the mega-toothed shark, Carcharocles auriculatus. It is believed Carcharocles auriculatus was closely related to the Megalodon but lived nearly 10-20 million years earlier.
This tooth was collected from the Late Eocene aged deposits of the Western Sahara Desert in Morocco. It's 2.79" long and exhibits great preservation, including gorgeous enamel, sharp serrations, a nice tip and finely serrated cusps. These teeth are pretty hard to acquire in this nice of condition as most are broken, repaired or restored.
