2.7" Pliocene Fossil Barnacle (Balanus) Cluster

This is an exquisitely preserved fossil barnacle cluster of the species, Balanus concavus. It comes from the Plaisancian Blue Clay of Italy. This formation dates to the Pliocene period. The fossil has been completely removed from the surrounding rock.

It comes with an acrylic display stand.
