2.7" Mosasaur Bone Section - Montana

This is a 2.7" wide bone section from a Mosasaur. The bone cells are beautifully preserved. It was collected from the Bearpaw Shale Formation in Montana. Due to the size of the bone section, there is no practical way to identify the species of this Mosasaur. That being said, the three Mosasaurs that are commonly associated with the Bearpaw Formation are Plioplatecarpus marshi, P. houzeaui and Plioplatecarpus peckensis, though their different features and taxonomy are still debated.
