2.22" Fossil Great White Shark Tooth - North Carolina

This is a fossil great white shark tooth, Carcharodon carcharias. It comes from the Pungo River Formation in North Carolina which is Miocene in age. The serrations are worn, however their indentations are sill present in spots. These fossil great white teeth are much rarer than the Megalodon teeth which they are associated with. The roots on these teeth are much more delicate than many other types of fossil shark teeth, so they are almost always eroded like with this specimen.
