2.2" Beetle Fossil Cluster- Green River Formation, Utah
This is a 2.2" long, cluster of unidentified Beetle (Coleoptera) fossils from the Green River Formation, Uintah County, Utah. Under magnification one can see very well preserved example of a beetle with elytra (wing covers) extended.
While this formation is best known for well preserved fossil fish found in Wyoming, other sections of the formation contain a very diverse insect fauna.
