2.2" Fossil Alligator Dermal Scute - Florida

This is a beautifully preseved fossil dermal scute of an alligator, collected from Florida. The scute is from an alligator that lived during the Pleistocene epoch is approximately 1.1 - 2.2 million years old. Dermal scutes are bony plates that underly the scales on crocodiles.
