18x12" Beautiful Fossil Fish Plate - Priscacara & Diplomystus

This 18.3x12.2" slab of shale contains two wonderfully preserved fossil fish of two different species. There is 5.2" long Cockerellites liops and a 6.6" Diplomystus dentatus, both showing very detailed preservation. They are nicely centered on the rectangularly cut, 3/4" thick rock.

These fossils come from the famous 18 inch layer of the Green River Formation. This 18 inch thick layer (hence the name) produces much darker colored specimens, but they require substantially more preparation work as they are found still buried under the surface of the rock.

This specimen would look great either framed and mounted on a wall or displayed on the included display stand.
