14.5" Triassic Petrified Wood Slab - Chinle Formation, Nevada

This is a thick, 14 1/2 inch wide, Triassic aged petrified wood slab from the Chinle Formation of Nevada. The Chinle Formation is the same formation which is exposed in the Petrified Forest National Park in Arizona, but also outcrops in several other states including Nevada and Colorado. It's very unusual to see material from Nevada though and this slab comes from an old petrified wood collection.
