12.6" Triassic Petrified Wood Slab - Arizona

This is a large, 12.6x8.9" slab of petrified wood from the Chinle Formation in Arizona. It's the same species (Araucarioxylon arizonicum) which makes up most of the petrified forest, but the preservation is very different from this locality being dark browns instead of red.

This slab comes from a large collection of petrified wood which I recently purchased containing some unique pieces from unusual locations. One side is nicely polished. Comes with a display stand.
