12.6" Colorful, Hubbard Basin Petrified Wood Stand-up - Nevada
This is a 12.6" tall, richly colored section of Hubbard Basin petrified wood which has been highly polished to a mirror finish. One edge has been cut flat for presentation purposes and the back side has been left in its rough state. It displays beautiful hues of blues, browns, reds, oranges and whites.
Found only in Elko County, Nevada, Hubbard Basin petrified wood is becoming increasingly popular with collectors. This variety of petrified wood is characterized by its tan or white-blue coloring that is often enhanced by red, orange, or brown patterns. Most Hubbard Basin petrified wood is Miocene-aged fossilized spruce wood. One of the main reasons collectors enjoy this petrified wood is because the growth rings are often nicely preserved and show through the vibrant patterns.
