12.3" Petrified Wood End Cut - Sweet Home, Oregon

This is a large, end-cut from a log of petrified wood. It's a diffuse porous hardwood, either Willow or Basswood. It comes from the Sweet Home Petrified forest in Oregon and would be Miocene in age. The rich coloration is really beautiful.

This is a large piece, at 12.3" wide and weighing over 17 lbs. Being an end cut the thickness varies up to about 3.4" thick.
