12" Ammonite Shaped With Orthoceras & Goniatite Fossils

This is a beautiful stoneware platter made out of polished rock containing 400 million year old Orthoceras (a type of straight cephalopod) fossils. There is also a fossil of a Goniatite, a primitive ammonite inlaid into the center of it. These fossils are quarried in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. The dish is approximately 12-1/2 inches in diameter and shaped like an ammonite itself.
