11.7" Fossil Sauropod Dinosaur Dorsal Vertebra - Imilchil, Morocco

This is a large, 11.7" tall fossil sauropod vertebra from the Middle Jurassic deposits near Imilchil, Morocco. Based on size and shape, this vertebra likely would be an anterior dorsal vertebra. The pedicles are still present on this vertebra, giving an idea of how absolutely massive the spinal cord of this giant sauropod would have been.

There are a few repaired cracks through the thinnest, posterior-facing side of the centrum, some requiring some minor gap fill restoration.

Note: most of the pictures of this specimen have the vertebra sitting upside down on its pedicles. Another picture has the centrum laying with the posterior face of the vertebra against the flat surface. These are the best ways to display the vertebra. However, upon request we can have a custom metal display stand built for the vertebra at an additional cost.
