This is the vertebra of a small, Triassic-aged theropod of the species Coelophysis bauri. The specimen was collected from the Cooper Canyon Formation (also known as the Bull Canyon Formation) in Crosby County, Texas. There is no repair or restoration to this vertebra.
Coelophysis was a small, slenderly-built, ground-dwelling, bipedal, carnivorous theropod that could grow up to about 10 feet in length. It is one of the earliest known dinosaur genera.
