1.9" Permian Fossil Fish (Elonichthys) - Germany

This is a 1.9" long fossil fish (straight line measurement) of the genus Elonichthys from a Permian-aged deposit in Germany. Though not the best preservation, it is nicely centered on a 3.25 x 2.1" slab of shale. The Rotliegendes series of mud and siltstones are renowned for its abundant fish and amphibian fossils and this stunning assemblage is a perfect representation of aquatic life that thrived in the area 285 million years ago.

It comes with an acrylic display stand.
