1.9" Partial Fossil Dragonfly (Odonata) - Cereste, France

This is a 1.9" wide fossil dragonfly (order Odonata) collected from an Oligocene-aged shale deposit near Cereste in Southern France. The measurement is from left to right along the portion of the wings that show articulation. Part of the head, thorax, and wings are intact.

It comes with an acrylic display stand.

This is part of an old collection that we recently acquired. The collection includes a variety of insect fossils from around Southern France, collected over a span of 50 years by a woman with PhDs in paleontology and pharmacology.
