1.77" Tyrannosaur Tooth - Interesting Feeding Wear

This is a 1.77" long Tyrannosaur tooth from the Two Medicine Formation (Judith River Group) of Eastern Montana. This tooth exhibits very heavy wear to the tip and outer edge. This is likely due to a combination of feeding damage and rubbing against another tooth in the dinosaurs mouth. Had this wear not been there, this would have been a pretty large tooth, probably over 3 inches. No restoration or repair.

There are three described Tyrannosaurs from the Two Medicine Formation (Judith River Group), Albertosaurus, Gorgosaurus and Daspletosaurus. Research done on teeth from these three Tyrannosaurs has concluded that isolated teeth are statistically impossible to assign to a specific genre because they are so similar.
