1.64" Flying Metacanthina (Asteropyge) Trilobite

This is a beautiful prepared of the trilobite, Metacanthina issoumourensis often referred to as an "Asteropyge" or “Kayserops”. It has been prepared so that it "flies" above the rock on a pedestal of limestone. This style of preparation takes countless extra hours to carefully remove the matrix from around the trilobite. Great shell detail and eye facet preservation. There is about 2-3% shell restoration on the trilobite, mainly a patch on the tail and the right side of the head.
