1.35" Kainops Trilobite With Huntonia Tail
This is a beautiful, caramel colored, 1.35" long Kainops raymondi from the famous Black Cat Mountain quarry near Clarita, Oklahoma. It has been prepared under microscope using air abrasives to reveal the beautiful shell preservation. There is an impression of a tail from a large Huntonia trilobite also located on the rock.
The Black Cat Mountain Quarry produces a limited number of arguably the most beautiful trilobites in the United States each year. Each specimen is meticulously prepared by quarry owner Bob Carroll under microscope to expose the smallest details. This is a very time consuming process, taking many hours, but yields spectacular results.
