1.23" Rooted Crocodile (Goniopholis?) Tooth - Colorado
This is a 1.23" long, rooted crocodile tooth from the Morrison Formation of Colorado. It was collected this past summer from our partners private quarry East of Dinosaur, Colorado. It's a very large croc tooth from the formation and nicely preserved. It was left partially embedded in the sandstone that it was found in. It's likely of the genus Goniopholis. While croc teeth are fairly common in this quarry, rooted ones are extremely rare. There have been a few stabilized cracks in the tooth.
