1.23 Inch Pterosaur Tooth From Morocco

At 1.23 inches in length this is a good sized, curved tooth from the Pterosaur, Anhanguera sp. It comes from the Cretaceous aged Tegana Formation of Morocco. This tooth is wonderfully preserved all the way to the tip with great enamel preservation. One of the nicer Pterosaur teeth that I've had.

Anhanguera was not a "true" dinosaur, but rather a pterosaur (flying reptile). It was one of the larger pterosaurs of the Cretaceous period with a maximum wing span of about 15 feet. It primarily ate fish, which used its sharp, needle-like teeth to hold onto.
