1.15" Scare Harpid (Lioharpes?) - Atchana, Morocco
This is an uncommon and I believe undescribed Harpid trilobite from the Lhandar Formation near Atchana, Morocco. Very little work has yet been done on Harpids from Morocco, but this one is most likely of the genus Lioharpes which is currently described from locations in Europe.
This one is 1.15" long which is about average for the species. There is a shift in the rock running through the tail and right side of the thorax. It's tough to tell if this is a natural geological shift or an issue with gluing the two pieces of the rock together during preparation.

About Trilobites
Trilobites are an extinct class of marine arthropods that thrived for nearly 270 million years, from the early Cambrian to the end of the Permian period (around 521 to 252 million years ago). They are one of the most successful and diverse groups in the history of life, with over 25,000 described species spanning a wide range of sizes, shapes, and ecological niches. Known for their distinctive, segmented exoskeletons, trilobites provide invaluable insights into the evolutionary history of arthropods and the dynamics of ancient marine ecosystems.
