1.15 Inch Pterocephalia, McKay Group, BC

Here is a 1.15 inch long calcite nodule from the McKay Group of British Columbia containing a Pterocephalia norfordi trilobite. Unfortunately this nodule can't be split open but much of the ventral detail of the trilobite is visible on the underside of the nodule. The McKay group contains a very diverse fauna within the Elvinia biozone and Pterocephalia represents about 4% of the trilobites.
