1.05" Wide, Enrolled Thaleops Trilobite - Wisconsin
This is a rarely seen trilobite from the Platteville Formation of Wisconsin. It's a enrolled Thaleops ovata which is about 1.05" wide. Excellent preservation and it displays nicely on the slab of limestone full of brachiopod fossils. The left genal spine has been restored.
The Platteville Formation is rarely collected and complete trilobites are very tough to find. Our digging partner who has a leased quarry on this formation has only found a handful of nice trilobites in the past two years for the locality.
