1" Pennsylvanian Fossil Calamites (Horsetail) - Alabama

This is a 1.0" fossil horsetail Calamites branch, from the Pottsville Formation, Cumberland Plateau, Alabama. Calamites is an extinct genus of jointed-stemmed plant, closely related to horsetails. This specimen is very well preserved, retaining some of the plant material.

It comes with an acrylic display stand.
