STEGODON FOSSILS FOR SALE

Stegodons were an extinct member of the order Proboscidea that would have looked similar to modern day elephants. At one time they were believed to be the ancestors to mammoths and mastodons, but are now believed to have no descendants. They were one of the largest proboscideans, with some species reaching over 12 feet tall and weighing over 12 tons. They lived in large parts of Asia, east and central Africa ,and North America during the Pliocene and Pleistocene epochs.
