INDONESIAN AMBER FOR SALE

Indonesian blue amber is an extraordinary type of amber found within the coal deposits of Sumatra, Indonesia. Originating from the fossilized resin of ancient trees, notably the extinct Hymenaea protera, this amber formed approximately 23 to 30 million years ago, during the Late Oligocene to Early Miocene periods.

What makes Indonesian blue amber truly unique is its striking optical quality. While it resembles conventional amber under artificial lighting, it reveals a mesmerizing blue fluorescence when exposed to ultraviolet (UV) light. This captivating effect is due to the presence of specific hydrocarbons, such as perylene, embedded within its structure.
