BIVALVE FOSSILS (CLAMS, OYSTERS, MUSSELS, SCALLOPS) FOR SALE

Bivalves are a class of mollusks with laterally compressed bodies contained between a pair of hinged shells, or valves, made of calcium carbonate. They have occupied both freshwater and marine environments since the Cambrian, and are still massively successful today. As many as 20,000 species of bivalves have been identified, both extinct and living, and thousands more could still be discovered. We are proud to offer numerous fossil bivalve species from around the world.
