ANGUSTIDENS FOSSIL SHARK TEETH FOR SALE

Otodus angustidens was a large prehistoric shark that lived approximately 33-22 million years ago, during the Oligocene epoch. This impressive predator is an ancestor of the more famous Megalodon. Known for its massive, serrated teeth that could reach up to 4 inches (10 cm) in length, angustidens was well-equipped to hunt and devour large marine animals, including prehistoric whales and other large fish.

The teeth of angustidens had a unique morphology, featuring a broad triangular crown with finely serrated edges and small side cusplets—a characteristic that distinguishes it from its giant descendant, the Megalodon, whose teeth lack these side cusplets. Based on the size of its teeth, scientists estimate that angustidens could grow to lengths of around 30-35 feet (9-11 meters), making it one of the largest predators of its time.
