WILD HORSE MAGNESITE (JEWELRY)

Wild Horse Magnesite, often called "Crazy Horse," is a semi-precious gemstone characterized by its striking blend of brown-red and white hues. It is sourced near the Globe Copper Mine in southeastern Arizona. This unique stone forms through low-grade metamorphism (200 to 320°C under low pressure) when magnesium-rich rock interacts with a carbonate-rich solution. The result is a metamorphic rock featuring white magnesite plumes, often displaying a mottled gray to brown appearance, set within a hematite-rich red-brown matrix.
