POLISHED KONA DOLOMITE

Kona dolomite comes from the Kona Hills in Marquette County, Michigan. It is believed that cyanobacteria colonies are responsible for these deposits, which are roughly 2.1 billion years old (Precambrian). This material can be found in a wide variety of shades, including brown, grey, black, orange, peach, pink, red, and yellow, and often in mottled, laced, and banded patterns.
