GALENA (FLUORESCENT)

Galena is a metallic, lead-gray mineral composed of lead sulfide, and it stands as the most important ore of lead. Known for its high density, bright metallic luster, and distinctive cubic crystal form, galena crystals often appear as well-defined cubes or octahedrons and can exhibit a mirror-like, reflective surface. Due to its lead content, galena has a notable heft and is easily identifiable by its metallic sheen and silver-gray color. Galena commonly forms in hydrothermal veins in association with other minerals such as sphalerite, pyrite, and fluorite, and it is often found in limestone and dolostone formations.
