DINOSAUR CLAWS (JURASSIC WORLD)

Dinosaur claws are extremely rare, desirable, and collectable dinosaur fossils. They are far rarer in the fossil record than dinosaur teeth. Not only do dinosaurs have fewer claws than teeth, ranging from 1-5 claws per foot/hand depending on the species, but dinosaurs shed their teeth frequently, whereas claws rarely shed if at all.

A few dinosaurs, such as Mononykus, have only one claw on its hand. Most tyrannosaurids, including Tyrannosaurus rex, had two fingers on each hand. Other theropods such as Allosaurus had three clawed fingers. Some theropods such as Ceratosaurus had four clawed fingers. Hadrosaurs had four-fingered hands, and Iguanodon was one of the very few dinosaurs that had five fingers.
