Large, 3.55" Asaphus Plautini Trilobite - Russia

This is a large, 3.55" long specimen in Asaphus plautini, one of the scarcer of the many species of Asaphid trilobites found near St. Petersburg, Russia. It was found at the Vilpovitsy quarry and is Lower Ordovician in age, or approximately 460 million years old.

The specimen is slightly compressed, but has only one patch of shell restoration on it's tail, about 2% in total.
